About Islampur College

Islampur College is a prominent higher education institution located in Islampur near Siliguri in West Bengal. The college was established in 1973 and is a prominent place for undergraduate courses for students of North Bengal as well as Bihar. The teachers were very helpful, qualified and knowledgeable. Yes this course is relevant to curriculum. The difficult of semester exams is quite difficult but if we study, it is very easy. The teaching quality is very relavent to the course. They help us to know every depth of the topic.

History

Islampur College was established on December 4, 1973 with the help of initiatives by the local residents. The objective of the college was to make higher education accessible to the underprivileged people in the area. The college serves as a centre for education for not only the people of North Bengal but also that of Bihar. Initially, Islampur College only offered Arts courses but it has included Science and Commerce courses under its wing as well.

Facilities

Islampur College has a well-equipped infrastructure that includes its Humanities and Science buildings, hostel facilities, library etc. The college library has grown and is now equipped with more than 12,000 volumes in addition to various journals. The library network is fully computerized and also includes a separate reading room for the students. The campus is equipped with Wifi and the college has taken advantage of its fully computerized system to implement an online admission process for the convenience of students. The college has a hostel facility available for minority students.

Scholarship

In order to aid the students in attaining higher education, Islampur College offers a number of scholarship schemes. Under these schemes, meritorious students are awarded full free and half free studentships on an annual basis. The scholarships are granted based on the student's performance in exams and college attendance. Apart from that, government scholarships and national scholarships are also distributed on a yearly basis.
